Why are People Not Engaging with My Facebook Business Page?

I remember a time when no one was engaging on my Facebook’s business page, this was in the early days still.

It was slowly killing me and making me depressed, as I had seriously put a lot of hard work into creating the content.

Over the last couple of years Facebook has had more than 65 million businesses create business pages. This has led to some pretty amazing growth for Facebook in revenue.

But this had a downside for users…

The people (almost everyone in the world), who owned private Facebook accounts, have been bombarded with all 100 billion ads in our news feeds!

This started a trend of people not using Facebook as much, as well as people who even closed their accounts due to it just becoming one large marketing channel.

Facebook had to act quick!

So, what they did was work on an algorithm. Hence, it only allowed a small percentage of our content as businesses, to reach our followers.

Yes, massive downside for us as business owners!

After all, in the long run this saved Facebook from losing its members. In the long run, what does this mean for us as businesses? Thus, even though we are getting 98% less engagement with our content, Facebook is only showing it to people who are really interested in what we as businesses have to say.

And yes, there are ways to increase your engagement rate. I will be touching on this in my next post.
